Tropes
Trigger Warnings
Why You Should Read This Book
There is something magical in The Wolves of Crescent Creek series by Tessa Hale. I devoured the first book, Crescent Kingdom, in one evening and literally squealed out loud when the ARC for the second book, Eclipsed Empire, hit my inbox earlier this month. There is something about Tessaâs writing style, characters, and magical world that pulls you in and makes it impossible to put her books down.Â
Eclipsed Empire picks up where Crescent Kingdom left off, with Wren in a very precarious situation and the guys searching for her, thinking she left them because of how they reacted to learning about her father. And the drama continues to ramp up from there. This plot is so fast-moving that youâll be shocked by how quickly you read this book and are left reeling after the massive cliffhanger.Â
Plus, who doesnât love a why choose trope that gives you FIVE men with extremely different personalities that check ALL of the boxes. Locke is the tender-hearted one who is always by Wrenâs side and gives her the benefit of the doubt, no matter what he learns about her past. There is something to be said about a nerdy tech guy who will do anything for you, no questions asked. Then we have PuckâŚheâs the playful one who makes incredible food and has immediate sparks with Wren. Kingston is the alpha of the group who feels highly protective of Wren, but also doesnât give her the benefit of the doubt at the end of the first book, so he spends the majority of his time trying to make amends. And letâs not forget our bad boysâŚBrix and Ender. You definitely donât want to ever be on their bad sidesâŚespecially not Ender. But when Brix finally opens up to Wren, itâs incredibly hot, and their connection is undeniable. Meanwhile, Ender likes to deny his mate connection to WrenâŚbut would still burn down the entire world for her. While all of the men give major touch her and dâ ď¸e vibes, Ender takes it to another level. Trust usâŚyouâre going to fall in love with every single one of them.Â
